It's Never Too Late to Become a Cowgirl Riding Book Club
Join us for Fun, Connection, and Growth
At Kenshō Stables, we’re all about bringing joy back to horsemanship. That’s why we created It’s Never Too Late to Become a Cowgirl — a playful, inspiring book club with horses! Dive into fresh training ideas, bond with your horse in new ways, and share the ride with a community of awesome equestrians.
Series 1: Horse, Follow Closely: Native American Horsemanship
Traditional Methods of America's First Great Horsemen; Understand Your Horse and Create a Bond with Relationship Training
Practice Day 3: Getting On Bareback, Riding with Balance
Part 1: “Getting on a horse should be an easy, fluid motion that does not compromise the balance of the horse or rider. Without the aid of stirrups, mounting becomes somewhat of a gymnastic exercise but with the proper technique can be a swift and graceful task.” If you prefer to mount using the mounting block, that is available, too.
Part 2: “Now that your horse is completely comfortable with you and your tools and can follow your lead to your satisfaction, it’s time to climb aboard and put your focal cues to use in the saddle. In this exercise, you’ll wean yourself from your reliance on physical aids and learn to trust your focal form of communication by using only focus to direct your horse.”
